I am not tryna be inflammatory, so I am just watching more RS gold... Gripes on this subreddit concerning the teams running RS3. I see comparable concurrent RuneScape player rates, but what do you guys think? Or go back to what sounds like a OSRS community that is thriving and start from scratch? I am stumped. Both are enjoyable for different reasons, I am really looking for the community's ideas.
Depends on what you're looking for. RS3 is much more about the endgame because amounts are simple to get, so it is mostly about level PvM. There are a lot of updates and things can be carried out afk, rather than the initial tunnel grind-fest. PvM has way more complexity than OSRS and also the skill ceiling is really high, individuals who are good enough could take on team bosses alone or perform struggles with no food/armor, etc.. OSRS kept the grindy levels and also you can't afk so there are more low-mid level RuneScape players, while it can be pretty empty in RS3 out of a couple areas where high level RuneScape players congregate. OSRS minigames are more alive and the community is bigger but they also have more robots, whilst RS3 minigames are essentially all dead. OSRS still has a pvp scene while RS3 does. High level PvM is just prayer flicking strategically.
Tyvm for the response that totally makes sense. I have a friend who performs osrs and"carpel tunnel grinding" is his normal bread n butter in games lmao. OSRS does prayer flicking, they don't have other mechanics. RS3 has tons of different skills and you have to use the right ones at the ideal times to counter plank mechanics and either not die or get treated instead. It's how proficient RuneScape players may endure two hours of a team boss while alone and win.I'd say stay with the main game (RS3) unless you've got a particular reason to play OSRS, e.g. you like the old combat system, the images, the grind, etc..
Like many other people, I quit upon EoC release. Came due to OSRS mobile back. Played for a very long time. Then eventually got bored of OSRS and moved back to RS3. I like the new combat system more than I ever liked the old one. The only downside is I have friends that play just and their telephones can not manage RS3. So they are stuck with OSRS. A few days I straight up gave myself carpal tunnel and wonder wtf I'm doing with my life. Well, anyhow. I guess I grew up. And I'm not as hardcore as I was. Only nothing but a geymer.
As somebody who has played since RSC (though I skipped lots of the RS2 period), I am a massive fan of Runescape compared to Old School. I just love all the QOL improvements and the expanded features record personally. That's totally what I am thinking. Not that OS doesn't get QoL but man, there's a lot of stuff that makes life more easy in RS3. Ive been mining to train up for Priffdinas. It is well worth noting RuneLite is a add-on a gigantic amount of OSRS RuneScape players to buy old school runescape gold use and it provides a whole lot of really big QOL. If the site is to be trusted, about 84K/134K RuneScape players online OSRS right now use RuneLite. It's more stuff than I could record, although it's not going to allow you to AFK something like this or the manner RS3 does.
